Philly Friendship Circle's Annual Art Show

Each year, we culminate our programs by showcasing the creativity of friends with and without disabilities who explored unique artistic experiences together in our Art Studio. This special event brings families, friends, and community members together to celebrate the creativity of our youth.

Christina Galagarza

"There's something almost magic about seeing kids dive into a big, messy art project together. It’s way more than just painting; it gives them a natural way to practice sharing and making decisions with their peers without the pressure of a formal "lesson." The real secret sauce, is the support staff. They’re the ultimate wingmen, stepping in to help translate a tricky social cue or helping a student navigate sharing the only big brush we have and providing a comfort before a meltdown happens. Having that extra set of hands and eyes ensures the kids feel supported enough to actually take risks and connect with one another. Honestly, without that guidance, a lot of those small but huge "social wins" might just get lost in the shuffle.”
